In case of failure to pay VAT in seven days, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) will shut down Robi’s Tariff approval and NOC. The operator has been asked to pay taka 18 crore 93 lakh 529.58 by the given time. National Board of Revenue (NBR) owes this amount as VAT for Spectrum Neutrality fee and 4G License fee.

As per an official notice issued by Senior Assistant Director (Finance) Md. Hasibul Kabir on April 22, BTRC is going to shut down down Robi’s Tariff approval and No Objection Certificate (NOC), in case of their failure to pay VAT in seven days. Besides, NBR and LTU will also take legal actions informing VAT Directorate.

Previously, NBR applies to BTRC on April 19 seeking their dues to be cleared considering which BTRC asks Robi for VAT payment by April 25.
