Sam Altman, the company’s CEO and co-founder, has returned to the board of directors of OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, which was discussed around the world last year.

In November last year, Sam Altman was abruptly fired from OpenAI and removed from the company’s board of directors. A few days later, OpenAI was thrown into chaos, with most of the company’s employees siding with Altman and threatening to quit the company if he wasn’t reinstated.

Altman returned as CEO of the company five days after that incident. Even the board members who voted to fire Altman were all forced to leave the company.

The company said in a blog post that the decision to bring Altman back to the company’s board was based on the results of a third-party investigation. Additionally, OpenAI’s board has “expressed full confidence” in keeping Altman as the company’s CEO and Greg Brockman as president.

According to the news, three new members have been added to the company’s board of directors. They are the former CEO of ‘Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’. Sue Desmond-Hellman, Sony’s former ‘EVP’ and ‘General Counsel’ Nicole Seligman and current CEO of US delivery company ‘Instacart’ Fidji Simo.  Source: The Reuters.
