Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), the premier trade body for the IT industry, has announced the election dates for the 2024-26 term. Bangladesh Computer Samity Election Board announced the schedule on December 19 Tuesday. 

As per the schedule on March 9 (Saturday) 2024 BCS 24-26 Executive Committee and Branch Committee elections will be held. BCS has a total of 11 branches in Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chattogram, Jessore, Barisal, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Tangail, Rangpur and Kushtia.

Sheikh Kabir Ahmed, Managing Director of Ora-Tech Consulting Limited will lead as the chairman of the 2024-26 election board. The Chief Executive of Cyber Communication Md. Nazmul Alam Bhuiyan (Jewel) and the proprietor of Computer Archives Md. Amir Hussain will serve as the other two members of the Board.

Under the leadership of the former President of BCS Mr. SM Iqbal, the other members of the Election Appeal Board are: Chief Executive of Metronet Bangladesh Limited and former director of FBCCI Syed Almas Kabir and the owner of Advanced Computer Technology (ACT) Engineer Chowdhury Md. Aslam.

It may be noted that the final voter list will be published on 30 January 2024. Nomination papers will be called for participating in the election on the same day. On 18th February 2024, the final candidate list will be published.
