Robi is advancing not only in the data business, but also playing roles as a leader in 4G services. 60.5% of Robi’s more than 5.8 million customers are currently 4G customers, which has crossed the 3.5 crore mark.

Robi conveyed in a notification on Tuesday (December 19) that this number is currently the highest in the telecom sector in terms of the ratio of 4G customers to total customers.  

According to the notification, Robi has ensured the highest 4G coverage (98.5%) among mobile operators with more than 16,600 4G sites. High penetration rate of 4G devices among consumers is the key to 4G business expansion. Currently 70.5% devices on Robi network have 4G capability.  

Besides, 77% of Robi’s total customers are data users, which is the highest proportion of data users in the industry. 80% of Robi’s total data users are accessing the internet through 4G.  

Robi’s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Shahed Alam said about Robi’s leadership in the 4G business, “Robi’s 4G has become much stronger than before using the 2600 MHz spectrum. Voice over LTE (VoLTE) users enjoy enhanced voice services on the powerful 4G network on their devices. Sustained investment, trusted network and exceptional innovative services have helped us reach a leadership position in the 4G business.

On the first day of commercial journey of 4G, Robi Axiata became the first mobile phone operator in the country to launch 4G services in 64 districts in 2018.
