All the problems of the Application Programming Interface (API) used on the website of the Office of Birth and Death Registration have been ordered to be resolved within the next seven days. From the beginning of October, the site should be fully activated. It has then been asked to send a report to the Digital Security Agency.

The directive was given at a review meeting of the Information and Communication Technology Division on Sunday (September 24). State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the meeting.

The review meeting was held on the activities taken by 34 Critical Information Infrastructure (CIIs) announced to strengthen cyber security.

Various issues related to cyber security issues of critical information infrastructure, manpower structure of CII institutions, increasing allocation to ICT sector, carrying out regular IT audit activities, formation of Security Operation Center (SOC) and Network Operation Center (NOC) were discussed in detail in the meeting.

The other decisions taken in the meeting are to send a letter to the ministries from the DSA (NCERT) of the ICT Division to ensure cyber security, to take necessary steps to establish a cyber security design lab in each CII, to inform all CII institutions within seven working days about the technical guidelines for setting up cyber security design lab (CSDL) from DSA (NCERT).

In addition, according to the CII guidelines, it was decided to send the relevant information to the DSA within the next seven working days. They were instructed to take necessary steps to increase the technical manpower of all CII institutions, including how the DSA can assist in ensuring the safety of CIIs and if they have any weaknesses.

At the same time, it was suggested in the meeting that the technical officers of CIIs should take proper training in cyber security as well as international standard certification.

Mushfiqur Rahman, Project Director of BGD e-Gov CIRT, Engineer Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, representatives of 34 CIIs and focal points, and concerned officials were present.
