Marriage & Parenting
What type of parent are you? Are you a strict parent? Or do you have more of a soft touch?
Parenting and marriage can be a challenge at times especially if you are at opposing ends of how to discipline your children.
Keep an open mind and be respectful to each other, even if you don’t always agree.
Having a private discussion beforehand (of course not in front of the kids) will allow you to discuss each other’s viewpoints and come to a compromise.
Encouraging Your Spouse
Find time each day to spend a few minutes having meaningful conversations with your spouse.
As a wife and parent, I get that sometimes it seems as if you are two ships passing in the night and it can be easy to overschedule and not get a chance to have a face-to-face conversation.
It can be helpful to set aside 5 minutes every morning to do a devotional together, or schedule a few date nights at the beginning of the month.
Rooting Your Marriage in Christ
In a Christian marriage there are going to be peaks and valleys. But by inviting Christ into your marriage, you are rooting your marriage in a firm foundation.
Life can be taxing but keep your eye on the big picture and remember that marriage is a precious gift from God.
Growing in Intimacy in Your Marriage
Having young children can be exhilarating and exhausting leaving you emotionally flat at times.
Physical and emotional intimacy can drop to the bottom of the to do list. In order to grow in intimacy with your spouse, it is important to schedule quality time.
One way to do this is through a daily devotional for couples. Find one that has discussion prompts that will get you and your spouse focused on each other and discussion what is really important to build and maintain emotional connection.

Marriage & Homeschooling
Some may say making the decision to homeschool is a sacrifice. I guess it depends on how you look at it.
If you ask most families that homeschool, after an initial adjustment period, they have found that teaching kids at home leads to a less stressful home life and a more harmonious marriage.
